Reasons to attend EAS 2019

Networking – the key to progress in science: interdisciplinary discussions inspire new ideas and new collaborations

EAS Congress aims to be a platform for participants from all corners of the world to connect. We firmly believe that the personal meeting – presenting and discussing one’s work with others, and sparking ideas from others’ work – is the key to progress in science. Compact and vibrant, Maastricht is a great EAS Congress city, offering networking opportunities even after Congress hours.
So, join the discussion, question and debate in the Science at a Glance and Poster sessions, and then relax and enjoy friendships old and new at the Welcome Reception and Networking Evening or even downtown Maastricht.

Be noticed – an opportunity to have your own work presented amongst the top names in your field

We encourage clinicians and basic researchers studying atherosclerosis and related vascular disease to take an active part in EAS 2019 by submitting an abstract of your own research. Each year EAS Congresses have enable delegates from over 70 countries to network, exchange knowledge and find new collaborators. In addition to the face-to-face exchanges, the abstracts presented as part of the Congress programme may subsequently be published in the Society’s internationally recognised Atherosclerosis journal.

Be energized – listen to experts in the field: leading international faculty in an excellent scientific programme

At EAS 2019 experts from all over the world will explore the latest developments in research into the causes of atherosclerosis and related vascular disease, and how these may affect the clinical guidelines for diagnosis and treatment. According to tradition, the EAS Congress programme is designed to offer everything from an award-winning Anitschkow Lecture, inspiring Keynote lectures, and top-named Plenary sessions, to in-depth Workshops and Advanced Clinical Seminars. To the preliminary Plenary programme

Take a step up the career ladder – opportunities for Young Investigators

EAS is committed to supporting young scientists in progressing their careers. Our Young Investigator Fellowships initiative offers early-career scientists the opportunity to take part in the Congress. This is a valuable step in their careers – where they can sharpen their skills by presenting and answering questions on their own research, as well as learning by attending the scientific sessions. Coming into contact with others in the field, they can also begin to develop their own network, which can lead to fruitful collaborations. Read more about Fellowships here.
